Every region has people and organisations working hard to improve local jobs and skills outcomes: employers, education and training providers, employment services, government programs, unions and community groups. Too often, those efforts sit in separate places and are hard for local people to find.

Operating as a social enterprise, Workinitiatives provides free local jobs and skills infrastructure across Australia’s employment regions. Eligible community and government stakeholders can activate a free core Jobs, Skills and Economic Development Hub for their region, using enabling technology to amplify the services and programs that already exist.

In this 45-minute online briefing, you will:

  • see a live demonstration of a regional jobs, skills and economic development hub
  • learn how local stakeholders can coordinate existing programs, services and opportunities in one place
  • understand how employers in eligible communities can advertise local vacancies and connect with local talent
  • explore the free core platform offer and who is eligible
  • learn the simple steps to explore a hub for your region.

Who is this for?

This briefing is for anyone working to strengthen jobs, skills and economic outcomes in their region, including:

  • Local councils and economic development teams
  • Regional Development Australia (RDA) committees
  • Local Jobs Coordinators and employment service providers
  • State and territory government agencies
  • Unions, industry and employer groups
  • Community and regional organisations
  • Education and training providers

If your organisation supports local people into work, helps employers find talent, or promotes your region as a place to live and work, this session is for you.

The session is hosted by Chris Carman, Co-Founder of Workinitiatives.

A recording will be shared with everyone who registers.
