This in-person event features Dr Mark Waller, Founder and CEO of Pending AI, in a presentation and discussion about his journey from academic researcher to deep-tech entrepreneur.
Drawing on more than 15 years of experience across academia and industry, Mark will discuss the challenges of translating frontier research into commercial applications and his experience building a deep-tech company. He will explore how Pending AI combines scalable quantum mechanics and artificial intelligence for computational drug discovery, from quantum-informed target identification through to AI-driven small-molecule hit identification and lead optimisation.
Mark will also share insights from his journey as a deep-tech founder, including the challenges and opportunities of taking research beyond the lab and building a company around emerging technologies.
The presentation will be followed by discussion and audience Q&A, with networking drinks and light refreshments afterwards.
Registration is from 4:45pm–5:00pm, with the discussion and Q&A from 5:00pm–6:00pm and networking from 6:00pm–7:00pm.
