About the speaker: Irma Mooi-Reci is a Professor of Labor Market Analytics at the School of Social and Political Sciences (SSPS). She is also affiliated with the Melbourne Institute of Applied Economic and Social Research (MIAESR) at the University of Melbourne. She is a leading expert in the field of labor market dynamics having spent over two decades researching how disruptive events such as - unemployment, underemployment, early disadvantage and the changing nature of work (conditions) - shape labor market dynamics for workers and their families. Her work has been widely published in some of the most prominent academic journals and has been (inter)nationally recognized through various research prizes and awards. Through her research, Irma aims to develop tools and insights that improve Australian's labor market outcomes, reduce labor market inequalities and improve job matching. Her research has had benefits outside academia with findings from her research helping shape work policies and being used by various organizations to support their submissions to the Australian Government.
